I’m back with my new column 15 seconds of fame, the traditional 15 minutes having been reduced by some Instagram magic! Every month, I’ll feature one talented anonymous bird from this social media, allowing you to discover that person thanks to a little quiz and my favorite video (and as I’ve always had issues sorting things out, I’ll even add two extra links). But please note that even if I’m offering 15 seconds of fame to these music-loving users, it’s actually YEARS of success that I wish and presage with this column! Without further ado, I’ll invite you to get to know Emma Rena, who just feeds my obsession for perfect riffs and runs.

I fell in love with music… : well, I think it has always just been a part of me! My Dad used to put headphones on my Mom’s belly when she was pregnant with me. Ever since then, music has been my life.
I sing because… : nothing gives me greater joy. I feel like I’ve been given a gift that not only makes me happy but can be used to make others happy too. Music can have such a great impact and I want mine to be life changing.
My musical pet peeve: watching others that have made it, when I know that I am just as good or even better! I use that frustration to drive me to work even harder, so it turns out being a positive.
The song that represents me the best: no song represents me better than one that I wrote myself. No Inhibitions was written at a time when I had just left everything I had known in Chicago to move to LA without any guarantee. However, I wasn’t going to be held back and I had no inhibition that pursuing my dreams is what I needed to do.
3 words to describe my own music: incomparable, relatable, soulful
Dream collaboration: to work on a song produced by Pharrell Williams or to do a duet with Ed Sheeran. I’d be happy with either one, they are both amazing!
