I’m back with my new column 15 seconds of fame, the traditional 15 minutes having been reduced by some Instagram magic! Every month, I’ll feature one talented anonymous bird from this social media, allowing you to discover that person thanks to a little quiz and my favorite video (and as I’ve always had issues sorting things out, I’ll even add two extra links). But please note that even if I’m offering 15 seconds of fame to these music-loving users, it’s actually YEARS of success that I wish and presage with this column! Without further ado, I’ll invite you to get to know Hollie Faiers. I’ve got my eyes and ears on this lovely girl for quite a while now, gushing after each of her Instacovers. Whether she sings a 1D song or some Labrinth, she just has this break in her voice that conquers it all and sends shivers down your spine! She got that special tone that makes you want to pay attention to the lyrics and brings out the best in any piece of music.

And if you think you have what it takes to give me goosebumps too, send me your link to alison@urbansoul.be or @urbansoulmag on Twitter (and by the way, let’s follow each other on Instagram as well, shall we?)

Artist name: Hollie Faiers
Age: 21
City: Suffolk, UK
I’m a: singer.
Instruments: Unfortunately not, but I’d love to learn guitar — watch this space!
I fell in love with music… : when my mum used to drive me to gymnastics class 5 times a week which was like a 20 minute journey and I trained for 10 years, so belting out Whitney Houston, which was on cassette at the time, was ultimately when I fell in love with music.
I sing because… : I actually find it very therapeutic, plus I like to challenge myself.
My musical pet peeve: Not sure I’m musical enough to have one but I can’t stand when people sing in an American accent, when they’re not American, e.g. Iggy Azalea!
The song that represents me the best: I’d have to say Cindy Lauper‘s Girls Just Want To Have Fun! Self explanatory, right?
3 words to describe my own music: genuine, raspy, heartfelt.
Dream collaboration: I would absolutely love to collaborate with Ed Sheeran, just simply so we could be the Suffolk dream team for one song… seeing as we are both from the same area! Plus his voice is dreamy.
Upcoming projects: Currently, I’m just trying to get myself out there, seeing as I am just a one-trick pony, it’s so difficult to get your name about! Just experimenting with different songs and vocal ranges.
Where to find me:  Instagram ● YouTube ● Facebook.
