AMERY – I Need Lovin’ (audio)

AMERY – I Need Lovin’ (audio)

The weekend is here, but I’ve decided to talk about work. Because yes, work can be fun (even though I’m happy to be off), especially when it comes with the opportunity to do something you love. So what have I been up to lately? I arrived in March at W!G Music, a Belgian independent record label, joining the family as a music publicist. We’re a small team of young and fresh faces (at least, I like to believe that it is the case at the beginning of the week) – cool colleagues? check! – working in a studio/office space that impressed me so much at my first visit that I asked if they would consider Airbnb-ing it. Cool environment? Check!

I chose the PR route because it is a joy for me to collaborate with independent artists, aiming to shine a light on their talent. What’s even more exciting is to be able to accompany one’s journey from A to (hopefully) Z and I’m happy I got the chance to do it with W!G Music’s first artist, Ivy Mode, helping out to promote her debut single. As for my new adventure as a full-time employee, it was perfectly timed with AMERY‘s big entrance which made it extra special. There’s something both dreading and beautiful in starting from scratch: sure, it comes with a lot of pressure, but every little victory is also extremely rewarding: AMERY’s song So Good was my first project as part of the record label and is now close to 400K streams! It’s around the time of its release that came I Need Lovin‘. I still remember James Lowland (the producer) and AMERY’s eagerness the very first time they told me about this new track. Like in a delivery room, elation was in the air, except the baby was a hit! And like a child, I’ve seen it grow, evolve and attire itself in new colors et textures, now adorning a production full of vivid details that allow you to imagine your own little movie. And I’ll gladly let you do so by listening to I Need Lovin’ right here, right now!

If you’re curious to know more about AMERY’s influences, make sure to check out my interview with him.
